One-to-one coaching permitted in tier 3

One to one coaching in a tier 3 area can continue with one player (inc. adults) from another household. The player and coach are allowed to be from tier 1, 2 or 3 area.   This statement has been verified by TTE.

This exemption is from the Government to allow for paid one to one support to continue.  The full Hygiene and Facility document is available on the TTE website.

Warwickshire placed in Tier 3.

Unfortunately, Warwickshire (and therefore Rugby) have been placed in Tier 3 which means that we cannot resume our Club sessions until the infection rate is deemed to be low enough that the county can be placed in either of the lower tiers.  You can check which areas are in each tier on the official government website.

My understanding is that Matt Hancock has said that areas in tier 3 will be able to use mass testing and that he urges people to take advantage of mass testing, so that they can get their areas out of tier 3.

Table Tennis England update 25th November

Following the Government announcement on November 23, the below outlines the TTE understanding of what will come into place for indoor table tennis, following lockdown 2.0 ending at 12.01am on Wednesday December 2.  TTE will continue to update their official guidance documents to include details about moving between tiers, plus guidance for coaches and competitions. Please see the Ready to Return section of the website.

In essence:

  • Tier 1 – will move back to where we were pre-lockdown 2.0, with the following in place
  • Tier 2 – some positive movement at this tier level, with more opportunities for adult play with someone from one other household
  • Tier 3 – very similar restrictions at this tier to pre lockdown 2.0

Further information on the above can be found at Table Tennis England and we should be able to discover which Tier Warwickshire and the Rugby area have been put in tomorrow - so, watch this space!

If you haven’t been to any sessions since lockdown began in March, click here to see  how we manage the environment and the process we have in place once we can start playing once agan.   You can find our Risk Assessment here.
